To most people, every paintwork damage is another costly journey to the repair center. But for some, the paintwork damage to a car is viewed as an opportunity. A chance to shake things a little and give the car some character and make it more eye-catching.

A metallic finish is an effective way of making your car more striking. The overall feel of metallic paint can make your car more attractive and allow it to stand out among other unremarkable-looking vehicles on the road.

So right here are some of the things you should know about metallic paint.

Aluminum particles are what gives the metallic paint its sparkly metallic appearance. An alternative to aluminum are mica particles that achieve similar sparkly appearance. The earliest metallic paints were single-stage. These were relatively easy to apply but can be quite inconsistent in terms of uniformity of the finish. That is why the single-stage metallic pain is only used today for minor repairs like filling in cracks and other surface imperfections

The two-stage metallic paint involves the application of the base coat which is then painted over with the base coat. While the basecoat determines the color and other visual properties like grains and patterns, the clear coat gives it the glossy effect.

A metallic finish makes the car more captivating as well as gives it an aura that no other kind of finish can duplicate.
