However, before you take your car to the service center, there are some information that you may have to understand that will help you when making a decision regarding the paint products that will be used on your car.

Paints have three primary ingredients: pigments, binders, and solvents. Pigments are responsible for giving the paint its color. It also provides protection to the surface that is being painted. The pigments can be natural or synthetic and are available in a vast array of different colors. The pigments are combined with the binders.

The binder is what allows the paint to attach to the surface when the paint dries. Similar to pigments, binders could be made from natural or synthetic materials. There are few natural binders currently being used. The ones in operation are also commonly combined with artificial binders to enhance performance.

The combination of pigment and binder is dissolved in a solvent. The solvent controls the thickness of the paint. After the paint is applied onto a surface, the solvent evaporates which permits the paint to completely dry.
